"So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called the place of a skull, which is called in Hebrew Gol′gotha"
John 19:17.

The Via Dolorosa is a street in old city of Jerusalem, in Latin means "Way of Sorrows" or "Way of Grief". This street is one of the most famous and sacred streets in the world since it resembles Jesus' last walk, carrying the cross on him. The road begins at the Praetorium (The palace of the Roman governor where he sentenced to death) and ends at Golgotha the place of the crucifixion. The Via Dolorosa has "9 station of the cross" on the street and 5 more inside the Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Each station perpetuated by small chapels that symbolize events that happened while Jesus was carrying the cross. Walking through that street is a central act for pilgrims and believers; since it preserves the identification with Jesus' suffering.
